Daniel Siad, a prominent French modeling scout, was pressed by CNN’s Katie Polglase in an interview published Thursday on his ties with Jeffrey Epstein, and appeared to be sweating profusely through his shirt during the tense discussion.

Siad is not facing criminal charges, but is named well over 1,000 times in the Justice Department’s release of Epstein-related files, being in a 2018 as a “recruiter of girls and/or women for J. Epstein.” He is also facing allegations of rape from a woman who claims to have been a former client of his, an allegation Siad has denied.
In the interview, Siad, who had continued to communicate with Epstein through at least 2014, defended his relationship with the disgraced financier by insisting he had no knowledge of Epstein’s “private life.” Polglase refused to allow Siad’s comment to go unchallenged.
“Well, you did because he was a convicted child sex offender,” Polglase said, referencing Epstein’s first criminal conviction in 2008 for child prostitution, a conviction stemming from an unprecedented plea deal that has gone on to receive renewed scrutiny. As such, Polglase continued to challenge what she characterized as Siad’s feigned ignorance.

“I can’t believe that this person has another [side],” Siad said before being challenged again.
“You keep saying that, but I keep repeating that this ‘other side’ of him was public knowledge,” Polglase said.
Siad let out an audible sigh before claiming not to be “a person who is looking [at the] press, into the [internet].”

“But you were aware of his conviction for child sex offenses,” Polglase said.
