New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman brushed off Trump’s twin tirades on Truth Social by boosting the sold-out book he scolded.

In a post on X on Saturday, Haberman broke her silence after Trump posted two lengthy posts complaining about her book Regime Change, which she co-wrote with fellow New York Times journalist Jonathan Swan.
Trump complained that Haberman and Swan’s book didn’t congratulate him for doing a “great job!” and instead included embarrassing scenes from his second administration. Haberman simply pointed out that her book is sold out and publishers plan to restock copies.
“Extremely grateful for the interest in our book,” Haberman wrote. “Thank you to those who have engaged with it. And hardcovers are being restocked!”
Haberman’s post was a response to a post by Swan in which he defended her from a Trump Truth Social rant in which he called her “Maggot Hagerman.”

“Many people disagree with the president’s assessment. Thanks to you all for reading,” he wrote along with a screenshot of the Amazon charts showing Regime Change in first place.
In another post, Swan again responded to what Trump had written on Truth Social by writing, “I would be honored to do another on-camera interview with President Trump whenever he wants.” Haberman reposted Swan’s response, which also included a link to his since-memed 2020 interview with Trump in which he expresses clear confusion over Trump’s points.
Other Trump critics responded to his Truth Social posts. Former MAGA insider George Conway reacted to Trump’s post by writing, “A severely mentally ill man has control of the launch codes for America’s nuclear arsenal, but it doesn’t seem that many people care.”
Journalist Aaron Rupar simply wrote, “I ain’t reading all that,” along with a video showing how lengthy Trump’s post was. “I’m happy for u tho. Or sorry that happened.”
