Report reveals killer ICE agent’s ‘abuse’ of ex-wives: ‘Threw boiling hot water on her’

A Washington Post report published Saturday detailed a violent history alleged in court filings against David Brouillette, the ICE agent identified as having fatally shot Colombian man Joan Sebastian Guerrero earlier this week.

“Ashley Brouillette said in an interview that her former husband once threw boiling hot water on her while she was holding their young daughter,” the Post’s report reads, recounting claims from Brouillette’s ex-wife Ashley Brouillette. “In another instance, she said, he kicked open the bathroom door when she was in the shower and pointed a gun at her.”

On Monday, Guerrero was fatally shot in Maine during a traffic stop by an ICE agent, later identified as Brouillette. Guerrero was one of two people killed by ICE in the last week during traffic stops, leading ICE to suspend all traffic stops, though President Donald Trump called for the policy change to be reversed the next day.

Brouillette’s alleged violent history was revealed by the Post through court records, largely related to cases involving his ex-wives.

“Ashley Brouillette said her ex-husband continued to behave aggressively toward her after their brief marriage ended in 2009,” the Post’s report reads. “She said she long feared her ex-husband would harm someone.”

Another ex-wife of Brouillette, Lucinda Brouillette, “described a similar pattern of physical and mental abuse in court filings,” the Post reported.

“In 2021, she alleged that David Brouillette had become ‘more impatient, aggressive and angry’ with his daughter from his first marriage,” the Post’s report reads. “She said he called the girl names, screamed at her, had dragged her out of bed by her feet and had once dumped an entire plate of spaghetti on her head.”

On Saturday, Lucinda Brouillette released a new statement regarding her ex-husband.

“If you were to ask me whether I believe David Brouillette is capable of this level of extreme violence, my answer is unequivocally yes,” she said in the statement. “That belief is not based on speculation, but on my own lived experiences over many years.”
