Speaking to Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Fetterman expressed condolences for the late Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who died last weekend because of an aortic dissection after returning home from a trip to Ukraine. Fetterman claimed that he and Graham had become “good friends” and shared a special bond over their “love and devotion” for Israel.

Fetterman’s comments were mocked far and wide across social media.

“Every day he is on Fox, every day he is talking about Israel. Beyond parody, at this point,” Mehdi Hasan, founder of Zeteo News, posted on X.

“Just laughable to hear from centrists that the left never talks about anything aside from Israel anymore and then to consistently talk about their obsession with protecting a rogue foreign nation,” Nate Blouin, a state senator in Utah who is running for a Congressional House seat, posted on X.

Some analysts expressed concern about a sitting senator who claims to be switching parties to become a Republican and shows such fealty to a nation that is not the U.S.

“If you’re an American conservative, are you really comfortable with members of the Senate talking about their ‘love and devotion’ to a foreign country instead of America?” Jaid Jilani, a political writer, posted on X.
