The Secret Service agent who revealed how much Vice President J.D. Vance’s security detail dislikes him might now face a criminal investigation because of it, according to a new report.

A member of the Vice Presidential Protective Division could face “potential criminal inquiry” over suspicions he shared Vance’s security detail involving special coins, stickers and badges made to mock him, according to CNN sources and a Daily Beast report.
MS NOW, the outlet that first revealed Vance’s security detail was “fed up,” noted the mockery merch features slogans such as “Bobcat OTR Survivors Club” and “Advance. OTR. Repeat.”
Bobcat is Vance’s Secret Service codename, according to CNN.
The person believed to be responsible for leaking this detail to the press has been put on administrative leave and Vance’s security detail will now be subjected to an internal review, sources told CNN.

Anthony Guglielmi, U.S. Secret Service Chief of Communications, said, “A member of the Vice Presidential Protective Division is the subject of an administrative investigation, and potential criminal inquiry, involving allegations of compromising operational and information security,” he said.
“While we will not comment on the specifics of this matter, one principle is unequivocal: any conduct that potentially threatens the safety of a protectee will not be tolerated.”
