Karoline Leavitt selfie backfires into Trump-shaming Nazi blunder

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt opened herself up to a wave of ridicule by holding up a newspaper featuring a cartoon depicting President Donald Trump dressed as a Nazi.

Leavitt was photographed in the White House Thursday holding up a newspaper while appearing to be taking a selfie — seemingly unaware of the Pat Oliphant Nazi cartoon emblazoned across the page.

But it did not skip the notice of sharp-eyed critics

According to the Daily Express, “Leavitt’s photo was taken for a piece published in the Independent Women’s Forum spotlighting the work of White House makeup artist Brittany Danielle, who is responsible for the press secretary’s makeup.”

But the Nazi putdown left the celebration of the make-up artist forgotten.

“Karoline Leavitt is reading a newspaper with an editorial cartoon of Trump as a Nazi. She explained, ‘He only wears that uniform at Mar-a-Lago,’” joked noted humorist Paul Rudnick.
