Fox host goes nuclear on GOP lawmaker in MAGA immigration spat: ‘I deeply resent that!’

Fox News host Tomi Lahren aggressively pressed Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX) on Saturday’s “The Big Weekend Show,” accusing the congressman of pushing an “amnesty” bill framed as a lifeline for family farms in just the latest example of MAGA pushback to the Trump administration’s immigration policies.

“I just have to ask you, if this isn’t amnesty, please tell me what I’m misunderstanding,” Lahren said, referencing H.R.9535, which would expand and streamline a H-2A agricultural guestworker program.

“If we do not solve this, we will have to import our food, and it is literally to that point, we already are faced with heavy imports from Mexico and other places southbound,” Sessions said. “It is a national security issue that we have family farms. This is about getting enough workers.”

Lahren didn’t hold back with her condemnation of Sessions’ remarks.

“Congressman, with all due respect, I’m from South Dakota, an agricultural state, I come from a ranching family, and I deeply resent the narrative that family farms and ranches must rely on illegal aliens, otherwise they won’t be able to survive,” she said.

“To insist that we simply need to have illegal aliens that are willing to work for less, undercutting the American worker and farmers, I’m sorry but I deeply resent that.”

Sessions claimed that Lahren was the first person he’d heard that “stated that,” and argued that farming jobs performed by migrant workers were “hard work,” noting that it required “getting up at 4 O’clock.”

“Congressman, Americans are willing to get up at 4 a.m., sir, with all due respect,” Lahren said. “I just deeply resent that assertion.”

“Good, good, that’s okay,” Sessions said.
