A biographer for President Donald Trump addressed a rumor that he’s frequently asked about, related to the president’s hygiene.

During an episode of Inside Trump’s Head, author Michael Wolff spoke about the rumor that Trump uses adult diapers and revealed that he’s asked “all the time” whether it’s true.
“There are very few conversations I ever have that are not about Donald Trump, but then the question comes up, and it’s asked, always in a sincere way, as people want to know,” Wolff said. “Does Donald Trump wear diapers?”
The rumor that Trump wears adult diapers has circulated online throughout his second term, fueled by his age. The speculation has even attached to his devoted aide, Natalie Harp, who has been mockingly dubbed his “diaper nurse” after she was photographed carrying a bag.
Wolff noted, “There is no basis to believe this is true. There is no evidence about this,” but the question “always brings me up short” because he’s surprised that people would assume “I would know.”

However, Wolff explained the kind of conversations people have with him when they bring up the question, as co-host Joanna Coles noted that it also has to do with Trump’s health and age. Wolff said that when people ask if Trump wears diapers, they usually follow up in a searching way.
“The follow-up question to that is, ‘When you are around Donald Trump, is there a smell?'” Wolff said. “And again, this is asked not in a spirit of mockery, but in a spirit of everyone kind of believes this to be true.”
Wolff said that he hasn’t been in proximity to Trump since the 2024 presidential campaign, and so far, “I have not” noticed a smell, but he admits that time has passed since then.
“I don’t know what’s happened and what might have happened in two years,” Wolff said. “But certainly up until that point, the last time I was with Donald Trump, there was no odor that surrounded him.”
