Trump’s pardon czar warns of ‘scammers’ — and points at an RFK Jr. ally

A feud has erupted between two prominent MAGA figures over allegations that individuals seeking presidential pardons from Donald Trump are being charged for access to the clemency process.

The war of words ratcheted up Monday after Trump pardon czar Alice Marie Johnson warned of “scammers” falsely claiming to represent her or her office, according to an exclusive report from The Daily Beast.

“Please be clear: Neither I nor my office will ever ask you to pay a pardon or clemency ‘processing fee,’ nor will we promise or guarantee presidential review or action in exchange for money,” Johnson wrote on social media.

“People seeking a second chance deserve hope – not exploitation,” she added.

While Johnson did not identify anybody by name, sources close to her told the Daily Beast that her warning was aimed partly at Angela Stanton King, a longtime Robert F. Kennedy Jr. ally who advised his failed presidential campaign.

Both Johnson and Stanton King received pardons from Trump in 2020 for separate criminal offenses. Trump commuted Johnson’s life sentence in 2018 after Kim Kardashian lobbied the White House on her behalf before granting her a full pardon.

Stanton King was pardoned for her 2004 conviction related to a car-theft ring. She did not respond to the Daily Beast’s request for comment; however, after the outlet contacted her, she reposted Johnson’s warning.

King has repeatedly promoted “pardonprocess.com,” which calls itself “the nation’s most trusted pathway to second chances” and directs prospective customers to begin with a $60 background check. Her photograph appears on the website, but as the Daily Beast pointed out, her precise role in the company is unclear.

The White House and Johnson’s office do not charge fees to process clemency requests.
