The iconic animated series “South Park” is mocking President Donald Trump’s fixation on renaming places by unveiling a new “patriotic” title of its own.

Show creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone announced Tuesday that the long-running comedy show will supposedly become “South America” as it kicks off its 29th season.
“Inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google, we are changing the name of South Park to SOUTH AMERICA,” the creators said in an announcement posted by the show’s official social media account, which also bears the new Trump-inspired name.
“We especially want to thank our parent company Paramount — a Skydance Capitulation,” Parker and Stone added in an apparent swipe at the company behind the series.

It was not immediately clear whether “South America” is a one-day publicity gag or a joke that will continue when the series returns, The Hollywood Reporter noted Tuesday.
“One thing seems certain,” the outlet added. “The show’s heavy Trump Administration focus last season seems likely to continue.”
The announcement came two days after “South Park” won the Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program, its first victory in that category since 2013. The show celebrated its win with a viral social media post taking a jab at Trump.
