In the latest batch of clips released from President Donald Trump’s interview with Laura Ingraham, the president appeared to suggest he’d lose his temper and do away with all restraints against Iran if Republicans lose the midterm elections.

The remark came in the middle of a segment in which Ingraham pressed him about his trade war with Canada.
“Companies are moving into the United States, they’re all leaving Canada, they’re coming here,” said Trump. “The Canada thing is amazing, they’ve been ripping us off for years.”
“He’s trying to wait out the midterms as well, isn’t he?” asked Ingraham, referring to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
“Well, I think a lot of people are,” said Trump. “So Iran’s, as soon as they’re — by the way, the war will end right after the midterms.”

“If Republicans win,” said Ingraham. “But if Republicans lose in the midterms, why would the Iran war end?”
“Well, I think a lot of people think if we lose, I’ll be much more angry and I’ll just take care of business, you know? It’s another way of doing it, you know. Either way they lose.”
Trump has also tried to dangle the promise of $5,000 checks for every U.S. adult if Republicans retain control of Congress this fall — a promise many observers have likened to voter bribery.
