Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) traveled to the Cornhusker State to stump for Sen. Pete Ricketts (R-NE). During one part of his speech, Kennedy tried to compare Nebraska and Louisiana cuisine, which led to an admission that several observers had a hard time stomaching.

“I’m here for one reason, other than the fact that I love Nebraska,” Kennedy said. “I shouldn’t say this, but I love Nebraska better than sex. Not really, but I love Nebraska.”

Kennedy’s comments sparked a firestorm online.
