Judge blocks Trump’s slush fund

A federal judge has slammed the brakes on President Donald Trump’s massive compensation fund for allies who believe they were wrongly targeted by President Joe Biden’s government.

Virginia-based U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema temporarily blocked the administration from moving forward with plans to establish a $1.776 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund,” including transferring taxpayer dollars from the Department of Treasury or considering any claims to the fund, reported CNN.

The judge scheduled a hearing for June 12 to hear arguments on issuing a more lasting pause on setting up the fund, which has been hit with multiple legal challenges from individuals and entities who argued they would not be eligible to receive money that appears to be aimed at the president’s political allies.
