Citing Donald Trump\u2019s collapsing support, according to a New York Times\/Siena College poll, longtime political observer John Heilemann observed on Wednesday morning that Republican Party will not only lose in the November midterms, but it is increasingly looking like they will lose big.<\/p>\n

Appearing on MS NOW\u2019s \u201cMorning Joe,\u201d Heilemann claimed there are numbers in the new polling that should be keeping Republicans up at night, with Trump \u201cunderwater\u201d across the board.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen this New York Times\/Siena poll came out on Monday, a lot of people looked at that top line number with Donald Trump, his approval rating at an all-time low at 37 percent,\u201c he pointed out. \u201cThat Hispanic number sure stuck out to me. The number with young voters: Trump 59 points underwater, 59 points compared to that 51. But the independent number Donald Trump underwater with independents by 43 points.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’ve seen that advantage for Democrats all along,\u201d he added. \u201cBut if you put a 14 point congressional ballot lead together with the president’s numbers, 43 points underwater with independent voters, I’m not predicting anything because I don’t make predictions anymore, but that is the kind of thing that you see when a wave is building and when a wave is coming, maybe it won’t come, maybe things will change, who knows?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut right now, if Democrats are looking for signs that there’s a wave coming, they will look directly at those couple of numbers and say, we’ve got at least a chance of a tsunami here,\u201d he predicted.<\/p>\n
