A medical expert issued a bleak assessment regarding the health of Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who was recently discovered unconscious<\/u> at his Washington home and rushed to the hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cMitch McConnell has been hospitalized for almost three weeks at this point with very little information that has come out about his condition,\u201d said Hilary Booco, a speech language pathologist at Colorado Brain Recovery, in a video published Friday evening. <\/p>\n

\u201cNow, it does sound like he is alive \u2013 on life support? I don’t know. Someone within his staff has said that he is improving \u2013 what that means, we don’t know. But here’s what we do know: even if he is alive, he is unfit to serve and he should not be finishing out his term through January.\u201d<\/p>\n

In mid-June, McConnell was rushed to the hospital for an undisclosed medical reason, though new reporting from this week revealed he had been hospitalized for a potential heart attack<\/u>. This follows his hospitalization<\/u> in February after experiencing flu-like symptoms, which itself follows several other health scares<\/u> including multiple falls and freezing up in public.<\/p>\n

The new details revealed this week on McConnell\u2019s most recent health incident, however, suggest the lawmaker may be forced into an early retirement, Booco cautioned.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, he was apparently found unconscious and unresponsive, required CPR due to cardiac arrest. That typically means lack of oxygen to the brain, on a brain that has already suffered a lot, that is already 84,\u201d Booco said. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf I were a speech language pathologist evaluating him and on his medical team, there would be significant concerns for even just the risk of going back to work on his prognosis. I would very likely say, given your age and health history, you should retire immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n
