A political guru uncovered the reason behind President Donald Trump’s late night Truth Social posting sprees during a podcast interview on Monday.<\/p>\n

David Rothkopf told Joanna Coles, host of The Daily Beast Podcast<\/em>, that the president’s flurry of posts boasting what he has successes has to do with his self-doubt. <\/p>\n

Trump’s comments about “his accomplishments are his way of affirming himself in the face of his insecurities,” Rothkopf explained.<\/p>\n

Trump posted more than 100 times on Sunday, just hours after July Fourth events were hit with bad weather and low attendance at his Great American State Fair. During his posting rampage, he included a list of 75 “accomplishments.” <\/p>\n

“The first one he started with was \u2018Launched Operation Epic Fury, destroying Iran\u2019s Navy\u2019\u2014the very thing that he said he wasn\u2019t going to do, which is get involved in stupid stuff abroad,” Coles said. “And then he goes, you know, ‘Secured the border, it\u2019s down 99.999 percent, more than 3 million illegal aliens have left the United States under my leadership.'”<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s such bulls—,” Rothkopf said.<\/p>\n

“There\u2019s too many to read, but what\u2019s sort of fascinating is what he thinks is important and how he prioritized them, and he prioritizes it with Iran,” Coles said.<\/p>\n

“I mean, that\u2019s one way to look at it,” Rothkopf said. “To me, this is just neurotic.”<\/p>\n

“This is Trump sitting there going, \u2018No, I\u2019m a good president, I\u2019m doing all these good things. Here\u2019s a list of the good things in case you don\u2019t remember them,'” Rothkopf said. “But almost every single one of them is based on a lie or a misinterpretation of the facts.”<\/p>\n

“This is the thing that is so striking, is that Trump thinks he is reaffirming, but he is actually undermining, because the facts don\u2019t add up for him. And that is what is keeping him awake in the middle of the night, and is why he is sending these 67 things,” Rothkopf added.<\/p>\n
