President Donald Trump revealed Sunday that he had a phone call with Sen. Lindsey Graham just moments before the Republican senator’s sudden and fatal illness struck<\/u>. <\/p>\n

Trump shared with NBC News\u2019 \u201cMeet the Press” details about his conversation with Graham (R-SC) in what he theorized could have been \u201chis last call.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo what makes it even stranger is that I got a call last night sometime in the early evening and [Graham] called and said ‘we’re all set for the SAVE America Act,’ \u2013 he was pushing the SAVE America Act like crazy,\u201d Trump said, referring to his controversial<\/u> voter ID bill the SAVE Act<\/u>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said he just landed from Ukraine \u2013 I said, ‘that’s a long trip to make!’ He sounded a little tired, but perfect \u2013 but a little bit tired. He had a right to be, he was a worker, he was really a worker. But he sounded great, actually. But he actually said he was tired.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump also revealed that he had potentially planned to meet with Graham in person on Sunday regarding the SAVE Act, which has stalled<\/u> in the Senate to Trump’s frustration.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe wanted to pass the SAVE America Act, and I said, ‘we’re gonna get it done Lindsey, I’ll see you soon,’ we thought maybe we might even meet today,\u201d Trump continued. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then that was it. It couldn’t have been much longer, it could have been his last call, I don’t know exactly. I got a message about 1 a.m. from one of the people in his office that he’d passed away.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump went on to theorize<\/u> that his call with Graham could have been held just \u201cminutes before\u201d his illness incapacitated him.<\/p>\n

Graham\u2019s office announced<\/u> Saturday night that the senator had died of a \u201cbrief and sudden illness,\u201d and further reporting<\/u> revealed that he may have suffered from cardiac arrest, though an official cause of death has yet to be released.<\/p>\n
