Two employees of the Chicago Police Department were fired after one of them wore Nazi regalia and performed gestures associated with the Third Reich on a high school stage, according to a new report.<\/p>\n

According to a report from WTTW, the firings came to light Wednesday by the city’s Inspector General David Glockner, who reported that the young cadet appeared on stage in a Nazi uniform, executed a military march, and displayed the “Sieg Heil” salute before an audience.<\/p>\n

“The uniform, march and salute created the impression that the individual was evoking Nazi Germany,” the inspector general concluded, stating the performance brought “discredit” upon the entire police department.<\/p>\n

The incident spiraled into additional misconduct when a second CPD employee circulated photographs of the cadet in the Nazi outfit among colleagues at police headquarters, creating what investigators described as “an offensive work environment.”<\/p>\n

During the investigation, the second employee also provided false statements to the inspector general, compounding the disciplinary violations, and was subsequently fired, with the report noting that both have been designated as permanently ineligible for rehire.<\/p>\n

A CPD supervisor also received a department reprimand for failing to properly report the misconduct through established departmental channels.<\/p>\n

According to WTTW, the inspector general’s report did not specify the timing or location of the incident.<\/p>\n
