Energy Secretary Chris Wright made a halfhearted admission Sunday that President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, a concession few<\/u> Trump cabinet officials dare make and one that onlookers predicted would put him directly in Trump’s crosshairs.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne last question before you go, really simply one: did Joe Biden win the 2020 presidential election?\u201d asked ABC News\u2019 Jonathan Karl, interviewing Wright on ABC News\u2019 \u201cThis Week\u201d program.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was president for four years, clearly so,\u201d Wright admitted.<\/p>\n

Karl pressed Wright for a more straightforward answer, explicitly asking the energy secretary if Biden \u201cclearly won the election?\u201d
\u201cLook, I\u2019m not an election evaluator, but it sure seems to me like he did,\u201d Wright said.<\/p>\n

While Wright\u2019s admission was less than straightforward, he still confirmed that Biden had \u201cclearly\u201d won the 2020 election, a claim that has fiercely been disputed by Trump for years and on countless occasions.<\/p>\n

Chris Robinson, a political commentary content creator and founder of \u201cMore On News<\/u>,\u201d suggested that Wright\u2019s days in the Trump administration may be numbered after his on-air admission.<\/p>\n

\u201cWelp, that\u2019s a wrap on Wright,\u201d Robinson wrote Sunday in a social media post<\/u> on X. \u201cSoon as Trump hears this, he\u2019s out!\u201d<\/p>\n

Wright is one of many Trump officials or appointees that have refused to acknowledge Trump\u2019s electoral loss in 2020. A recent example saw Jay Clayton, Trump\u2019s pick to succeed Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence, repeatedly refuse<\/u> to answer whether Trump had lost the 2020 election during his Senate confirmation hearing.<\/p>\n

Janie Harrington, a writer<\/u> and former educator, compared Wright\u2019s elusive answer to teenagers she taught during her time as a teacher.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s almost like dealing with teens suffering from passive-aggressive behavior, something I did for many years while teaching,\u201d Harrington wrote in a social media post<\/u> on X. \u201cIt’s so exhausting and to use Trump’s word, SAD.\u201d<\/p>\n
