Iran has broken its word to President Donald Trump and has ramped up executions under the guise of war to cover up the deaths, an analyst told CNN on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Iranian journalist and activist Masih Alinejad told CNN anchor Jake Tapper how the executions have impacted people inside Iran, where the<\/span> United Nations has reported that at least 56 people have been executed by the regime since March. <\/p>\n

Tapper reported that the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding, which was signed in June, did not include any human rights protections, which experts said has led <\/span>to Iran intensifying executions. Last week, two men were executed after the Iranian regime claimed they were involved in the killing of four<\/span> police officers during the <\/span>anti-government riots in 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alinejad told Tapper she felt “heartbroken” for Iranians living under the regime. <\/span><\/p>\n

“I’m in touch<\/span> with a lot of people inside<\/span> Iran, the relatives of those who<\/span> have been executed,” she said. “They cannot<\/span> believe that the whole world<\/span> stopped talking about them because<\/span> the execution machine is still<\/span> working, never sleeps. But as<\/span> you see, barely media leaders,<\/span> international community talk<\/span> about the mass executions.” <\/span><\/p>\n

Alinejad pointed out a concerning reality.<\/span><\/p>\n

“You<\/span> remember yourself that President<\/span> Trump said that the Islamic R<\/span>epublic promised him to stop<\/span> executing protesters,” she added. “That was<\/span> the big lie. And now<\/span> it’s beyond sad that teenagers<\/span> are being hanged in public. And<\/span> there is no TV inside Iran, no<\/span> media inside Iran talking about<\/span> the concern of the family<\/span> members who are actually waiting<\/span> for their beloved ones to be<\/span> executed very soon.”<\/span><\/p>\n
