Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed fired back at President Donald Trump Sunday morning after the president lobbed an attack some critics have described<\/u> as a blatant \u201cracism.\u201d<\/p>\n

El-Sayed was asked by CNN\u2019s Jake Tapper about two images<\/u> the president shared Saturday evening \u2014 one of Trump and his wife Melania, the other of El-Sayed and his headscarf-clad wife Sarah Jukaku \u2014 and the misspelled caption \u201cTwo VERY DIFFERENT America\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s right!” the Michigan Democrat replied. <\/p>\n

El-Sayed then explained to a surprised Tapper what he saw in the two photos: a decision for American voters. <\/p>\n

“One in which your overlords are two people who don\u2019t like each other but joined in the interest of making billions of dollars off of you,” El-Sayed said, “or two people who genuinely love each other enjoyed some pancakes together want to come together to build the kind of America where they can raise a family.”<\/p>\n

The Senate hopeful then turned to the issues he felt mattered more than his wife’s headscarf. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve got two different visions of America; Donald Trump\u2019s vision is the one you\u2019re living in right now,” he said. “Can you afford your gas, can you afford your groceries? Do you believe, when you look your kids in the eye, that they\u2019re going to have a better future than you did?\u201d<\/p>\n

El-Sayed dove deeper into comparisons between his and Trump\u2019s marriages \u2013 a comparison Trump first initiated \u2013 arguing that one factor clearly separated the two pairs.<\/p>\n

\u201cSarah and I like each other,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t know about the first lady and the president, but from what I\u2019ve heard, it\u2019s a bit of a rocky road.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, Trump and Mrs. Trump reportedly sleep in separate rooms<\/u>, with Trump sleeping in what\u2019s been dubbed the \u201cliving room\u201d of the White House. <\/p>\n

Mrs. Trump resides in the White House\u2019s master bedroom. Also according to Haberman and Swan, Trump has resorted to pillaging gold from the White House hallways in a race to \u201chave the better room.\u201d<\/p>\n
