The White House sprang into motion<\/u> Monday following a recent jab<\/u> at President Donald Trump over his \u201cunhealthy<\/u>\u201d relationship with his 35-year-old female aide, and one White House insider revealed Tuesday why the dig appeared to strike such a nerve.<\/p>\n

Over the weekend, Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) criticized Trump during a rally in Atlanta, Georgia, name-dropping his 35-year-old assistant, Natalie Harp. He argued that the president would rather \u201cbuild his ballroom and travel with Natalie\u201d than \u201cdo his job.\u201d<\/p>\n

Within hours, the White House leaped into action. White House Director of Communications Steven Cheung called<\/u> Ossoff the \u201cbiggest cuck loser in politics,\u201d and White House spokesperson Davis Ingle attacked<\/u> Ossoff as a \u201ccringeworthy, feminine theatre kid\u201d and a \u201clightweight loser.\u201d Trump was asked about Ossoff\u2019s remark by a reporter on Monday, and soon after, the White House attacked<\/u> the question as a \u201ccheap shot,\u201d and the reporter as a \u201cscumbag.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking with Semafor for its report<\/u> published Tuesday, one insider revealed the reason for the White House\u2019s aggressive response to Ossoff\u2019s remarks.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne person close to the White House said Harp \u2018will ultimately jump the highest out of anyone in the room when he says jump,\u2019 adding that the aggressive pushback is partly because \u2018the first lady doesn\u2019t like these types of things\u2019 and Trump \u2018does get furious\u2019 about personal topics,\u201d Semafor\u2019s report reads.<\/p>\n

\u201cHarp\u2019s proximity to Trump has unnerved some of his aides and sparked unfounded rumors about a relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harp has gone on to become estranged<\/u> from some of her family members due to her close relationship with Trump, including from her own brother, who described her relationship with the president as \u201cvery unhealthy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt just kind of caused some cognitive dissonance,\u201d Preston Harp, Natalie Harp\u2019s 38-year-old estranged brother, told the Daily Mail<\/u> back in June. \u201cI don’t understand why my sister, or anyone, could want to work for Trump. It’s hard to believe that’s my sister… I can’t connect with that vibe, so I’m just going to let it be.\u201d<\/p>\n
