The mental health and substance use organization the Trimbos Institute issued a \u201cred alert<\/u>\u201d Friday after discovering<\/u> a batch of ecstasy pills shaped like the head of President Donald Trump that contained a potentially lethal substance, a discovery that critics were quick to flag as ironic.<\/p>\n

The pills depict the face of Trump on one side, and his last name branded on the other. Far more concerning to the Trimbos Institute, however, was that the pills contained<\/u> a \u201chigh concentration of a chemical called PMMA, or para-methoxymethamphetamine,\u201d a chemical similar to MDMA, the synthetic drug often found in ecstasy.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbsolutely do not use these pills,\u201d the institute warned, according to CBS News<\/u>. \u201cWe do not know of any victims where PMMA was found in their blood.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelly Cameron<\/u>, a writer and disability activist, characterized the discovery as ironic given the Trump administration\u2019s deregulation of the food<\/u> and medicine<\/u> sectors.<\/p>\n

Rex Jones, the son of far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, joked<\/u> that \u201cthey must be taking these in the White House with how cracked out they are,\u201d and Andy Corbett, a senior lecturer in defense studies at King\u2019s College in London, quipped about the pill\u2019s potential similarities to Trump.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey over-promise, fail to deliver and leave a bitter aftertaste?\u201d Corbett wrote Saturday in a social media post<\/u> on X.<\/p>\n
