Multiple White House insiders have named the same Trump Cabinet member they believe will become the administration’s first \u201cmidterm political casualty” and predicted the official will be fired before Thanksgiving, former Obama campaign aide Christopher Hale<\/u> claimed Sunday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone I talk to in and around the Trump White House says [Defense Secretary Pete] Hegseth will be the first midterm political casualty and will be fired before Thanksgiving,\u201d Hale wrote in a statement<\/u> shared on social media.<\/p>\n

An explosive report<\/u> from The Washington Post published on Sunday revealed new details about an operation<\/u> within the Pentagon designed to \u201camplify Hegseth\u2019s viewpoints\u201d in online discourse, a report that Hale pointed to as further evidence supporting the White House insiders\u2019 claims.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday\u2019s Washington Post report makes [Hegseth\u2019s imminent firing] all the more likely,\u201d Hale wrote.<\/p>\n

According to the Post, several conservative military veterans with significant online followings had been tapped for roles within the Pentagon, which declined to disclose their assignments. Since their hiring, however, the military influencers have frequently voiced support for Hegseth\u2019s \u201cculture-war fights\u201d and \u201cviewpoints.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hegseth has already sparked concern<\/u> within the White House over his purge of top generals<\/u> amid President Donald Trump\u2019s deeply unpopular<\/u> war against Iran, and despite White House officials stating that Hegseth retained Trump\u2019s confidence, questions have been raised<\/u> about whether Hegseth\u2019s personal vendettas have influenced his firing decisions.<\/p>\n

Hegseth has also been warned<\/u> by his own top military brass that the conflict in Iran is unsustainable, despite his repeated claims<\/u> to the contrary.<\/p>\n

In May, Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) told<\/u> Politico Magazine that before he leaves Congress at the end of the year, he\u2019d \u201clove to see Pete Hegseth fired,\u201d citing the \u201chorrible job\u201d he was doing leading the Defense Department. He also blamed Hegseth for the chaotic messaging surrounding the United States\u2019 initial strikes on Iran, and accused him of having \u201cmisinformed\u201d Trump on the operation.<\/p>\n
