Conservatives revolted Monday against President Donald Trump\u2019s latest screed against Americans opposing his data center push, with one conservative radio host declaring the president had gone \u201cfull techno-fascist.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump lashed out<\/u> at “communities throughout the U.S.A.” Monday for resisting new data center construction, a signature priority he moved to fast-track last year via executive order<\/u>, telling them they will \u201cend up being backwards and poor\u201d should they continue to resist.<\/p>\n

A majority of Americans now hold an unfavorable view<\/u> of new data center construction, with a recent poll from Embold Research finding that three-quarters of Americans would oppose construction of a new data center in their community. The backlash to data centers has been \u201cuniquely bipartisan,\u201d CNN noted<\/u> Monday.<\/p>\n

And, while a number of Republican politicians have since adjusted their rhetoric<\/u> on data centers to not create electoral liabilities for themselves, Trump instead doubled down on his support for the emerging technology with a cry to \u201clet Data Reign,\u201d a position that was met with scorn.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump goes full Techno-Fascist screaming \u2018LET DATA REIGN\u2019 and embracing data center land grabs. Gross,\u201d wrote Shannon Joy<\/u>, a prominent conservative radio host, in a social media post<\/u> on X.<\/p>\n

Liz Dickinson, a conservative political operative and former CIA intelligence analyst, described Trump\u2019s pro-data center rant as \u201cmore tone deaf, tiresome comments.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe who live among data centers oppose them for many reasons,\u201d Dickinson wrote in a social media post on X. \u201cConsidering Trump , he should tone down feigned concern about its influence. Any candidate supporting these in areas they already exist will lose the midterms.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even Trump\u2019s followers on his own social media platform Truth Social seemed to have mixed reactions to his remarks, with Truth Social user \u201cusUltra MAGA Prayer Warrior\u201d telling the president: \u201cI have to disagree with this one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Internal GOP polling on Americans\u2019 views on data centers has sent Republicans scrambling<\/u>. A National Republican Senatorial Committee memo<\/u> obtained by Axios warned that the topic of data centers had \u201cbecome a sleeper issue for the entire election cycle.\u201d<\/p>\n
