President Donald Trump took a victory lap Monday after the Supreme Court cleared the way for construction of his controversial White House ballroom to continue, calling the massive project a \u201cgift\u201d to the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am pleased to report that the United States Supreme Court has just ruled in favor of the Ballroom\/Military Complex being built without any further contingency, doubt, or threat,\u201d Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe are living in the Golden Age of America, and this Building will be one of the Greatest ever constructed in Washington, D.C.,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The conservative Supreme Court ruled 5-4 Monday to indefinitely halt construction of the project, with Chief Justice John Roberts joining the high court\u2019s three liberal justices in dissent.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen completed in the Summer of 2028, the magnificent Ballroom and Military Complex will be something that the entire Country is very proud of,\u201d Trump posted. He added that the lawsuit brought by the National Trust for Historic Preservation was \u201cbaseless.\u201d<\/p>\n

The ballroom, the president insisted, \u201cis under budget and ahead of schedule and \u201cis totally funded by Great Patriots and Corporations and, therefore, is a Gift \u2014 At no cost to the American Taxpayer.\u201d<\/p>\n
