In the midst of yet another faltering agreement with Iran to bring Donald Trump\u2019s war to an end, the producers of MS NOW\u2019s \u201cMorning Joe\u201d compiled embarrassing video footage of the president optimistically claiming \u201cIran wants to make a deal\u201d \u2014 dating back multiple weeks.<\/p>\n

Coming out of a commercial break, the president is seen telling Fox Business host Larry Kudlow, \u201cI don’t know. I mean, I don’t know. I know one thing. They want to make a deal. They wouldn’t talk to anybody else, but they’re talking to me,\u201d during a February 10 interview.<\/p>\n

A week later, while traveling on Air Force One, he insisted, \u201cI hope, I hope, they’re going to be more reasonable. They want to make a deal. I think they want to make a deal. I don’t think they want the consequences of not making a deal. They want to make a deal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sitting between Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegesth on March 26 \u2014 almost 30 days later \u2014 he claimed, \u201cThey want to make a deal. They are begging to make a deal \u2014 not me. They are begging to make a deal. And anybody that saw what was happening over there would understand why they want to make a deal.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the compilation, Trump repeats his \u201cmake a deal\u201d claim again on March 31, April 16, and May 6th, the 20th, the 22nd and again on Wednesday of this week when he told reporters attending a Cabinet meeting, \u201cIran is very much intent \u2014 they want very much to make a deal.<\/em><\/em> So far, they haven’t gotten there. We’re not satisfied with it, but we will be.\u201d<\/p>\n

As the clip concluded, host Jonathan Lemire dryly added, \u201cThat’s President Trump’s \u2018Let’s Make a Deal: Iran Version.\u2019 And of course, no agreement yet.\u201d<\/p>\n
