{"id":895,"date":"2026-05-29T17:43:39","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T17:43:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/propertyrelocationusa.com\/?p=895"},"modified":"2026-05-29T17:43:39","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T17:43:39","slug":"pam-bondi-asked-directly-about-trump-in-epstein-interview-and-doj-attorney-intervened","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/propertyrelocationusa.com\/?p=895","title":{"rendered":"Pam Bondi asked directly about Trump in Epstein interview \u2013 and DOJ attorney \u2018intervened\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The Justice Department\u2019s (DOJ) botched release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein was front and center Friday during ousted Attorney General Pam Bondi\u2019s interview with the House Oversight Committee, during which, a DOJ attorney &#8220;intervened&#8221; to stop Bondi from answering a direct question about President Donald Trump, one Democratic lawmaker claimed.<\/p>\n<p>Bondi agreed to appear for a closed-door interview with members of the Oversight Committee over the DOJ\u2019s handling of Epstein-related files \u2013 around half of which <u>remain unpublished<\/u>, which critics have claimed to be unlawful. However, she previously <u>defied a congressional subpoena<\/u> to testify under oath. As such, she faces no legal risk for providing false statements.<\/p>\n<p>Even so, Trump\u2019s DOJ apparently felt compelled to stop her from answering certain questions about Trump, Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-NM), a member of the Oversight Committee, claimed just outside the interview room.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe has been asked multiple times about the Trump administration, about her conversations with the president,\u201d Stansbury said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen asked specifically about a conversation with Donald Trump, one of the DOJ attorneys intervened and said she did not have to answer the question because it was a voluntary interview, and said, quote, \u2018we don\u2019t even have to assert privilege,\u2019 and, quote, \u2018we refuse to provide answers.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other Democratic members of the Oversight Committee similarly condemned Bondi\u2019s performance. Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) called the interview a \u201c<u>ridiculous charade<\/u>,\u201d and Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) referred to it as \u201c<u>disgusting<\/u>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stansbury also noted that other than Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the Oversight Committee chair, no other Republicans participated in the closed-door interview, sparking even more fury from the New Mexico Democrat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat means that the DOJ is intervening on behalf of Pam Bondi to stop her from answering questions about what happened in the cover-up in this case, and her conversations with Donald Trump,\u201d Stansbury said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a cover-up! This will be remembered as the largest cover-up likely in American history, and it is clear that this interview is a smokescreen to try to show the American people that they are complying while they are not,\u201d Stansbury added.<\/p>\n<div>\n<blockquote><p>The Epstein cover-up continues.
