Florida MAGA voters told Sarah Longwell, founder of the Republican Accountability Project and Republican Voters Against Trump, that they are furious with the president they elected, the former Republican revealed Saturday.

“He is flagging,” said Longwell. ” I was surprised.”

Longwell convened two groups of Republicans who voted for Trump in 2024 and were about to vote in the Florida primary and asked them to give the president a grade.

The majority of those grades were in the C range and below, Longwell said.

Longwell then shared clips of her interviews with voters, all of whom expressed frustration with the war in Iran and the cost of gas.

“I coulda sworn Trump said we were going to go in and out,” one woman told Longwell. “I think he realizes this is a big mistake. He don’t know how he’s gonna get out of this.”

A male voter told Longwell he was frustrated with Trump’s handling of immigration.

“The biggest disappointment for me… when Trump was campaigning one of his bag platforms, was, you know, securing the border,” he said. “I was expecting big mass deportations.”

Instead, the Florida voter saw Trump focus on the war.

“Iran is really bothering me,” he said. “I feel like for decades we’ve spent a lot of time in the Middle East for the wrong reasons.”

Another female voter told Longwell she no longer trusted the president to keep his promises.

“We really need to be focused more on the economy and getting gas prices down,” she said. “He keeps saying it’s going to happen but it hasn’t yet.”

Longwell, in a video interview for The Bulwark, said these comments are becoming more and more common.

“Whenever I dig into a MAGA group these days,” she said, “they are really down on Trump.”
