CNN serves Trump a brutal humiliation and ditches convention for de Blasio and AI

President Donald Trump’s speech didn’t get live coverage on CNN Wednesday night.

The network abruptly cut away as the president continued to ramble from topic to topic, then turned to its analysts to cover the event on its own terms.

During the speech, Trump made a number of wild claims to the audience.

Among other things, he asked voters to help him “finish the job” and “pretend I’m on the ballot” in November; said a Republican victory would mean America would “leave the world in our dust for generations”; and falsely claimed that Democrats are now “actually admitting” he won the 2020 presidential election, which he did not.

CNN did not return to Trump’s speech after a commercial break, and instead hosted panels with former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and one about artificial intelligence.
