The Trump Justice Department was caught with an embarrassing typo in its latest court filing against ABC News.

The filing, submitted as part of a politically charged lawsuit against the Federal Communications Commission, asks the court to delay the agency’s deadline to respond to a motion to intervene. But the title refers to the government’s “oblitation” to respond — a word that does not exist.
Scott MacFarlane, chief Washington correspondent for MeidasTouch, spotted the typo Friday.
“Well… apparently ABC News has much better proofreaders than the Justice Dept,” MacFarlane posted on X. “Because … in its defense against ABC News lawsuit, the Justice Dept has uncorked yet another typo in the title of a court filing.”

The sentence immediately below the bold-faced title uses the correct word: “obligation.”
ABC and its parent company, Disney, sued the FCC in August. The companies accuse the Trump administration of targeting the network over news coverage and programming the president found unfavorable.
