President Donald Trump tried to hype up Texas GOP Senate nominee and state Attorney General Ken Paxton in a speech on Wednesday — but couldn’t help but throw in jabs about his physical appearance.

“Ken Paxton, you might not like the way he dresses, and I say this, it’s so insulting to him, but I might as well say it,” said Trump. “You might not like the way he looks. You might not love his television interviews. But he was the best attorney general and that speaks a lot louder than the suit he’s wearing that doesn’t look so great or than anything, frankly.”
Trump’s characterization of Paxton as poorly dressed earned immediate reactions from commenters on social media.
“Oof,” wrote the official account for the liberal network Meidas Touch.
“He might be a corrupt useless slug, but he tried to help me steal the 2020 election so you probably should vote for him,” wrote Meidas Touch editor-in-chief Ron Filipkowski.

“Guess Paxton rejected those Trump shoes,” wrote the anti-GOP account Patriot Takes.
“Donald Trump single-handedly handing Texas to us Democrats,” wrote political commentator Vince Wilson.
