Fans of President Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again movement melted down Sunday after the Charlie Kirk statue at the Turning Point USA (TPUSA) headquarters was vandalized.

TPUSA, the political advocacy group the late Kirk founded, posted pictures on X of Kirk’s statue defaced with red spray paint. A memorial sign placed at the foot of the statue was also spray-painted.
The vandalism occurred just days after the one-year anniversary of Kirk’s death.
“We will restore the statue and replace the signs, but we are also reviewing the footage of the incident and are working with law enforcement to identify who did this and hold them accountable,” TPUSA posted on X. “But vandalism like this is not funny, it’s diabolical. The incident happened in the middle of the night because evil never sleeps. Beyond spray-painting on the neck and face, they made the intentional decision to cross out the name of Jesus on a nearby sign.”
MAGA fans were outraged by the post and shared their reactions on social media.
“Absolutely vile,” Jonathan Choe, senior journalism fellow at the right-wing Discovery Institute, posted on X.

“They thought a bullet would silence my husband’s voice but it only made it louder,” Erika Kirk, Charlie’s widow, posted on X. “They think spray paint can obscure his legacy, but it will only spread it further. Every attempt to tear down what Charlie built makes us root deeper and work even harder.”
“Look at what happened to Charlie’s statue,” Micah Beckwith, Indiana’s Republican Lt. Governor, posted on X. “Look at the contempt shown for the name of Jesus on that sign. Evil has no trouble recognizing what Charlie stood for, even when comfortable Christians apparently do.”
